Had a *great* experience with these guys in what was an otherwise rather unpleasant car trouble experience (needlessly lost work hours and rental cars). AAA did their bogus battery test two separate times on my car after it wouldn't start, each time telling me a different thing was wrong with it just so they didn't have to replace my battery for free (which was still under warranty). I took my car into AAMCO after I was told I had a bad starter. These guys took one look at it and said, 'yeah, its not the starter -- its your battery that needs to be replaced'. Furious (since this was the third day I had been without a working vehicle), I had a AAA technician come out to the shop to honor the warranty. It wasn't until I literally had to make my case to his manager over the phone that he would even agree to replace it, since he insisted on running the test *again* only to have it "not pass and not fail" -- WHATEVER THAT MEANS! So at this point, at least I had a new battery. I turn the car on fine, but then I pushed the gas and nothing happened - the throttle wasn't working. I asked the technician to restart my system's computer but he said he "didn't have the tools to do that", which is bogus since all he would have had to do was disconnect the battery for like 30 seconds. So with a smile and a "let us know if there's anything else we can do" he promptly left me on my butt with a car that wouldn't drive. Well, I walked straight back into the AAMCO shop and requested they get my car working again. At this point I was frustrated and needed to get to work, so I left it in their hands and left in my rental car. I got a call not too long after from Shon (who was so patient with me - I must have called the shop 15 times) saying they had simply restarted the car's computer system and everything was in fine working order - and that the service was FREE OF CHARGE. I can't express how thankful I was at that moment to know I was taken care of in that way. I'll be sure to go straight to AAMCO the next time I have any car troubles they can fix!
